The Little Big Bandwas formed in October 2007. It was a result of a conversation in a pub after a rehearsal with a Concert Band at the Leeds College Of Music, when it was discovered that several members of that band lived near each other in Leeds, Yorkshire and all aspired to play swing music. And so The Little Big Band was formed!Molly Anderson, who has been an accomplished musician for many years, directs the band. She also teaches music in two schools in Bingley and Halifax, Yorkshire.
We play a variety of music from the Big Band era and our music library includes some classic swing music from the great songwriters such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Duke Ellington. We have numbers such as Summertime, Alexander’s Ragtime Band, American Patrol, Route 66, I Get a Kick Out Of You, Cry Me A River and many more.
We also have two vocalists in the band so we can put together set lists of both instrumental and vocal numbers to suit your function. We are available to play at any kind of event including weddings, corporate functions and private parties. We can play to either a seated audience or a dancing crowd!
